Who we are

CAQA Harbour View Hospitality, hotel, restaurant, events and travel agency

CAQA Harbour View Hospitality operates a 96-room waterfront hotel in Docklands, the Tidewater Restaurant and Quay Bar on its ground floor, a purpose-built events centre at Williamstown and a retail travel desk in the Melbourne CBD. Guests range from interstate business travellers and conference delegates to cruise passengers, wedding parties and families on school holidays. The business sells accommodation, dining, functions and packaged travel through its own reservations team, online travel agents and corporate accounts, and it prides itself on personal service that starts at the first phone call and ends with the guest's return booking.

The business is organised into six operating departments: Front Office and Reservations, Restaurant and Bar, Kitchen and Food Production, Events and Conferences, the Travel Desk, and Housekeeping and Facilities. The hotel runs 24 hours a day with morning, afternoon and night shifts on reception, a split-shift kitchen brigade and a housekeeping team that turns over rooms between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. The events centre operates on a booking-driven roster, and the travel desk trades six days a week. Department managers report to the General Manager, who chairs a weekly operations meeting every Monday.

Warmth

We greet every guest by name where we can, anticipate needs and never let a problem leave the building unresolved.

Safety

Food, alcohol and the physical workplace are handled by the book, every shift, because one lapse harms a real person.

Craft

Cooks, baristas, bartenders, consultants and room attendants take pride in doing their trade properly and in teaching it to others.

Fairness

Rosters, pay, tips and opportunities are handled openly and in line with the award, and concerns are heard without fear.
